Happy Mothers Day LIZ

The colour of  rich California wine. I used several coats of black cherry translucent oil stain on the trunk and dark walnut on the oak slats. For anyone who hasn't tried using a colored stain on an old trunk before, it's a lot more work than using a regular stain but the results are well worth the effort. All the tin and hardware was removed and reinstalled with new brass plated trunk nails.

The original lock works and comes with a new key.

I feel it's important to show you the underside of my trunks, in case you're too shy to ask, they are finished with the same attention to detail as the rest of the trunk. I add the nylon castors to prevent scratches or snags on various floor surfaces. The trunk glides across these surfaces making it easier to handle when pulling it away from the wall to open it.
The inside of the trunk is equally important. This is where you'll be storing some
delicate items and it needs to be clean, snag safe and odor free- I guarantee it.
The inside of this trunk gets an extra name tag so that everyone knows who the special mom is.
Seldom do I sell a trunk without a new custom made tray,( some dealers charge an extra $150.00 plus, for trays) This one has three compartments and it's included.
